Holiday lets at The Snug normally run from Saturday 3pm to Saturday 10am inclusive. Short breaks may be available. Please contact us for more details. Payment may be made by UK cheque or Paypal (using either a debit or credit card; note there is a 3.9% surcharge for Paypal payments).

Terms & conditions

1) To confirm the booking of The Snug (the hired premises):

  • A non-refundable holiday deposit of £100/week is due at the time of booking. Reservations can only be held for 7 days without receipt of deposit. The booking is not binding until it is confirmed in writing (letter or email) by the Owners of the hired premises.
  • The balance of payment must be received 4 weeks before the start date of the holiday.
  • If the balance of payment is not received 4 weeks before the start date of the holiday, the reservation shall be presumed cancelled, and no deposit shall be returned.
  • If the start date of the holiday is less than 4 weeks after the date of booking, the full balance will be due within 7 days.
  • If the Hirer cancels the reservation more than 4 weeks before the holiday start date, the deposit is non-refundable. If the Hirer cancels the reservation less than 4 weeks before the holiday start date, the deposit is non-refundable; however, the balance will be refunded in full if the hired premises is able to be re-let. If the hired premises is not re-let, the balance will not be refunded.
  • Please note: It is strongly recommended that guests purchase some form of cancellation insurance. It is your own responsibility to see that you are covered.
  • If bookings bridge two different monthly rates, the rate payable will be pro-rated. For example, if a 7-night stay consists of 3 nights at a rate of £195/week and 4 nights at a rate of £275/week, the final rate will be £240.70.

2) The Owners reserve the right to decline to hand over properties to any person or persons who, in their opinion, is not suitable to take charge. In such cases, hire charges (less the deposit) shall be refunded and the liability of the owner shall cease.

3) If the Owners are prevented, because of circumstances outwith their control (e.g. fire damage, drought or the interruption of utility supplies), from putting their property at the disposal of the Hirer, the hire charges shall be refunded in full but the Hirer shall have no further claim against the Owners.

4) The Hirer shall allow the Owners or their agents or employees entry to the hired premises for all reasonable purposes.

5) The hired premises shall be used solely as holiday accommodation and the Hirer shall not sub-let the hired premises or any part of the hired premises or any equipment from the hired premises.

6) Under no circumstances may the number of people occupying the hired premises exceed the number stated in the booking confirmation unless agreed in advance and confirmed in writing by the Owners.

7) Holiday lets normally commence at 3pm on the holiday start day and end at 10am on the holiday end day, at which time the cottage must be vacated.

8) Payments by Paypal are subject to a 3.9% surcharge.

9) Prices quoted include bed linen, towels, tea-towels, gas and electricity.

10) The cottage is strictly non-smoking.

11) PETS: may be permitted by prior arrangement. Pets must not be left unattended in the hired premises. Pet baskets or bedding must be provided by the Hirer. Under no circumstances are pets allowed on beds or furniture. If significant extra cleaning/washing of linen is required then the costs will be passed to the hirer.

12) We ask that on departure, the premises are left clean and tidy.
